  Description: Global-RIMS is a modeling framework that estimates the water cycle water components of evaporation, transpiration, soil moisture, ground water store, and river discharge using a preferred flow network being derived from high resolution HydroSHEDS (Hydrological data and maps based on SHuttle Elevation Derivatives at multiple Scales) and run using precipitation data (from the Global Precipitation Climatology Project and NOAA) and river discharge data from the Global Runoff Data Center. Global-RIMS also estimates irrigation water requirements for a high-resolution crop distribution derived from Monfreda, Ramankutty, and Foley 2008 and FAO Global Maps of Irrigated Areas.
