Name: US Integrated Ocean Observing System High Frequency Radar Network
  Abbreviation: IOOS HFRNet
Description: IOOS operates and maintains approximately 130 HF radars throughout the continental coastal USA and Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The radars are intended to run 24/7/365 to produce hourly fields of two-dimensional ocean surface currents in coastal regions. The radars operate in roughly the 4-5 MHz, 8-9 MHz, 12-16 MHz, 25-27 MHz and 40-50 MHz bands. Gridded fields are produced at 1, 3 and 6 km resolutions with 0.5 km resolutions in special areas.
